Description
The Scheppach HBS400 Band Saw is a reliable and versatile tool for precision cuts in workpieces up to 170 mm thick. Powered by a robust 750-watt induction motor with two speed settings, it’s well-suited for cutting hardwood, softwood, and plastics in home workshops. Whether you're making straight cuts, bevels, mitres, or curved shapes, this compact benchtop bandsaw delivers clean, accurate results.
The welded bandsaw blade operates on precision roller guides with ball bearings, allowing smooth cutting performance. Blade widths between 6–15 mm minimise material waste and are ideal for clean edges, tight curves, and intricate shaping. A 100 mm dust extraction port keeps your workspace tidy when connected to an extractor.
- Powerful 750W Induction Motor: Delivers smooth, low-vibration cutting with adjustable speeds (360–720 m/min) for hardwood, softwood, and plastics
- Generous 170 mm Cutting Height: Ideal for beams and thicker materials, with support for all 2240 mm blades up to 15 mm wide
- Precision Cuts & Mitres: Includes rip fence, cross-cutting gauge, and 0–45° tilting table for accurate straight, bevel, and curved cuts
- Extendable Work Surface: 400 x 500 mm cast table expands to 535 mm for added stability on larger workpieces
- Dust Extraction Ready: Integrated 100 mm port connects easily to external dust extractors, keeping your workspace clean
The generous 400 x 500 mm work table offers excellent support and can be extended to 535 mm for larger materials. It tilts continuously up to 45° for accurate mitre cuts, with a quick-clamping system for tool-free adjustments. A rip fence with sight glass enables precise longitudinal cuts, while a cross-cutting gauge helps achieve clean angled cuts.
Workpieces are safely guided to the band saw blade using two positioning stops that also provide finger protection. Unlike a circular saw, the HBS400 offers better accuracy for shaping and curved cuts—though it's not intended for internal cut-outs like a scroll saw.
Cutting speeds of up to 720 metres per minute—or 360 m/min for more delicate work—make this bandsaw suitable for a wide range of woodworking tasks. Compatible with standard bandsaw blades, it’s a dependable addition to any serious DIYer’s workshop.
